Gia Vainisi is a passionate properties artisan/designer located in the Chicago area. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. 

 

As an artist, I pursue connection. Through the design of props, I strive to connect the characters to the world around them and tie the world to itself. I find props to be a substantial tool in storytelling, often tying together actions that could otherwise read as disjointed.

During my schooling, I have served as props designer for numerous shows--my favorites being The Lieutenant of Inishmore and Electra. This past summer, I worked as props associate for Central City Opera's 2025 season, which included three repertoire shows.
